The River Beach

Last Saturday, after doing some outside work around the house, we decided to continue the Spring Break and get the boat out on the river, find a sand bar, and let Thor do some swimming. The river is still pretty high so it took us a few minutes of a boat ride to find a sand bar to get out on. We stayed for about 30 minutes. The water was FREEZING! But of course he loved it. We plan on making this our "beach" for the summer.

Friday evening, when we got back from the cave, we went to see Nanny's new kittens. Hali had 5 kittens earlier that day, so they were less then 12 hours old! They are now just over a week old and have grown so much! Thor loves to pick them up and hold them. As some of you may remember, it was around last Easter when we had gotten our first kitten. The day we came home from the hospital with Trig, my mom had to take the cat to the vet and have it put to sleep. While we were gone, something happened to it. The vet said its hip was broken and had several broken toes. So, we are still working on picking which one we want to bring home.

Marianna Caverns

We packed up camp Friday morning, dropped off Curry's truck and camper at the house, hopped in my car and drove to Marianna to tour the cave before they sold out. Some people camping next to us told us they had gone the day before and the tours were sold out for the day by 1:00! Thor thought the cave was really cool! The tour was a little long for his attention span and all the stopping and listening to the tour guide had him really anxious to keep moving. We weren't allowed to carry Trig in the back pack carrier so Curry and I took turns carrying him. He got very tired of being held and wanted down so bad. He wore us both out! The top picture is of a bat that we saw while in the cave. When we got out of the cave, Thor saw all the mud on his shoes and pants. He was very excited to tell everyone that he had cave mud on his pants!

We have a camping hammock that Curry always likes to put up when we go camping. After our hike Thursday morning, we went back to camp and had lunch then Curry and Trig took a nice nap. When Curry wasn't in the hammock, Thor wanted his turn.

I took this little pool with us because I knew it would probably get pretty warm in the afternoons while we were camping and because I knew Thor would love playing in the water. The first night we were there, cousin Zac came to visit and got in the pool with him. They had fun pouring the FREEZING cold water on each other.

Camping During Sprink Break

Over this past week, Spring Break, Curry and I made several adventures with the boys. The first day of Spring Break, last Saturday, we went to the Jr. Museum. A few months ago we bought a family year pass to the Jr. Museum in Tally and have used it 3 times now I think. I took my camera but left the memory card at the house so I don't have any pics of that day. Curry ended up getting Wednesday and Thursday off so we decided to take the boys camping. We borrowed John and Chaille's camper and went to Torreya State park, which is here in Liberty county. Very beautiful up there! We stayed Wednesday through Friday. While we were there we went on several hikes. One of the trails started at the little park area so we let the boys play on the playground before we headed off into the woods. They both love the swings! This particular trail went to an old stone bridge that went over a creek.

We were driving back to the campsite from the hike and we had to stop and wait for this snake to cross the road. Once it crossed and we pulled up next to it, I zoomed in with the camera to get a closer look at it. Thor was so excited to see it, from the truck of course!

Egg Hunt

We had our egg hunt for church this past Wednesday. Thor was so excited to open all the eggs and get the candy. I think he ate all the candy by bedtime that night!
Trig had fun hanging out and riding around in the stroller. Thor shared an egg with him, of course candy already eaten!

Train table project

Last year Thor started getting into Thomas the train stuff. At Christmas we bought him his first track kit. Ever since then we have been wanting to get him a train table. Well I looked at them on line and on Craig's List and they were just too expensive and of course too small. So Curry decided he could build one a lot bigger and cheaper. A few weeks ago him and John got all the supplies and painted it. Then last weekend they put it all together while I cleaned off the front screened in porch. Thor was helping daddy spread the glue for the 'grass' carpet. Then he helped screw in the screws.

As you can tell, Thor loved helping his daddy and loves his new train table.
After it was completely finished they started putting the track together. I think they stayed out there on the porch until almost 10:00 that night! Curry and I figured out that Thor's train is more than twice the size as store bought ones and it cost us a fourth of the price!

I was cooking dinner tonight. Thor was playing outside and Trig was playing in the living room. I went to check on Trig and this is what I saw. Him standing at Thor's stool!! He has only been crawling for a week and he is already pulling up!! What am I going to do with this boy??!! He goes to the doctor on Wednesday, St. Patty's Day, for his 6 month check up which he will be 6 1/2 months already but that is when they could get us in. I'll update in a few days with all his stats. Here is a few: he can still wear some 3 month clothes! A tooth finally broke through a couple of days ago so he has some white showing. He has still had this awful cough and runny nose. We took him back to the doctor last week and they think it is lingering from the RSV from January and he may have some allergies so they put him on Claritin. We'll see if it works.

Crawling

I took these pics of him getting up and trying to crawl on Wednesday. He was 6 months and 1 day old. I got to thinking about it and Thor crawled the week he turned 7 months and walked at 11 months. So trig is a month ahead of Thor. I wonder if he will keep it up and walk at 10 months??!!!

As I create this post, it's Sunday, and just a few hours ago Trig was slowly making his way around the living room. Even made it under coffee table.

6 months

Doing better on posting for this month, he hasn't been 6 months for a week yet. ;) Some changes this past month: a few weeks ago I cut his hair. Trimmed up the front- it was hanging in his eyes, trimmed it up around the ears and on back. Two weeks ago at church, he got up on his knees for the first time. Ever since then he has been hard at work trying to figure out this crawling thing. He has also gotten a lot better at sitting up on his own for longer periods of time.

I know, I am a little late. Here are some 5 month pictures I took. Some of the biggest changes from 4 months to 5 months were: eating baby veggies for dinner, he really started reaching for and playing with toys, laughing a lot more-especially when tickled, and finally getting on somewhat of a schedule for eating and napping. And I think he started loosing some hair. :(

Last Day Running Deer Dogs

Today was the last day for Thor and Curry to hunt in the forest with the deer dogs. I took several pics this morning before they headed out. Thor has really come to love the life of deer dogs. He thoroughly enjoyed himself this hunting season hanging out with his daddy, all their hunting buddies, and eating snacks all day. I know he will miss it and be looking forward to next year.
This is Reese, the most outgoing of the 3 dogs. The other 2 are Snickers and Skittles.

Last week I decided to bathe the boys together to try to save time. They loved it! Mamaw bought Trig a bath seat that's made to go in the bath tub that we have been using now. I will have to get a picture of them with the new seat. Yes, their water is pink. Thor got those color changing tablets in his stocking from Santa. It's supposed to be red but turns out to be pink. Oh, well!

Trig 4 months

Trig was 4 months old yesterday! Of course I can't believe it! He is so alert and active. He has discovered his feet and likes to look and reach for them. If I'm busy and he starts fussing, I can now send Thor to entertain him for a few minutes. I took him to the doctor on Tuesday for his check up and shots. Well he didn't get shots because the doctor said he has to be exactly 4 months or older to get his shots! Why didn't they tell me that when I made the appointment!? So now I have to take him back this week for shots. They weighed and measured him anyway. He weighed 13 lbs. 12 oz. and was 26 inches. That was 45th percentile for weight and 60th percentile for height. I was a little worried that he was too tiny but the doctor said he has been bouncing above and below the 50th percentile line which is fine, he's right in the middle. He's just a little bit smaller than what Thor was at this age. I knew he was a little small for his age before we went to the doctor because he can still wear some newborn and 0/3 months clothes! But we love our little man!

Winter Beach

Last weekend we had the opportunity to spend a couple days at Panama City Beach, thanks to Curry's grandparents Jim and Shirley. Curry and I went down on Saturday night and went out to eat and had the night to ourselves. John and Chaille' came down Sunday evening and brought the boys. We went walking on the beach Monday morning and it was FREEZING! But Thor had fun playing in the sand and water and chasing the birds.

Santa brought Zac and Thor Tinker Toys to Nana's house. Chaille' brought them to the hotel so the boys would have something to play with. Curry and Thor created a play toy for Trig. As you can see, he loved it!

Cookies For Santa

Another tradition we taught Thor this year was to leave cookies and milk for Santa. Him and Zac decorated some ginger bread men cookies with Cayla that we put out with some chocolate chip cookies. Thor was so excited and listened intently when I was telling him about leaving the cookies and Santa bringing presents. When he woke up Christmas morning and the cookies and milk were gone, he was so excited! His reaction was priceless! I got it all on video. I just love how he is growing and learning and watching his reactions to the things he discovers. I know these days won't last forever.

Gingerbread House

Now that Thor is getting older, I wanted to start teaching him some traditions. One I wanted to start was making a Ginger bread House on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, Curry had to work on Christmas Eve but before he left, him and Thor made a Ginger Bread House. They had a blast! I look forward to next year when Trig can help.

On Sunday the 20th we had Christmas with Erik, Lisa, Kayleigh, and Brian. Thor and Kayleigh had fun playing together. It was nice having a girl around! Trig and Brian also had fun getting passed around. Brian is quite a bit heavier than trig so we deffinately got our work out holding him.

3 Months

Yes, 3 months have passed already. Trig was 3 months old yesterday. The pictures have blurred spots in them because he was constantly moving while I was taking pictures. He has become a wiggle worm! And yes he still has ALL of his hair, has not lost any of it. (knock on wood)

Papaw Bear's New Shack

Since Papaw Bear moved, he had to build a new Shack. We went to check it out, and Thor loved it. Papaw Bear and Thor were playing catch with a box of milk duds.

Thor was getting carried away when he was throwing the box to Papaw and kept falling down on the floor. His pants got dirty and Papaw swept them off with his broom. Thor thought it was funny. He told him to sweep the dog too. (the dog had lots of debris in his fluffy tail)

More Halloween

The costumes for infants at Wal-Mart were too cute. I couldn't decide which one to get so I bought two, the frog and the giraffe. I took Trig with me to school on Friday for the costume parade and Halloween festivities. Trig is hanging out with his frog buddy Ashton.

We had our annual Trunk-or-Treat on Halloween at church. Thor got a toy bow and arrow at Goat Day and that is all he has wanted to play with since, so he was a hunter for Halloween. Thor was checking out Cowboy Renner. Trig was frog.

Baby Ashton was also a frog. Two little Bull Frogs!

Visit with Mamaw and Papaw

A few weeks ago, the weekend of October 17-18, Mamaw and Papaw flew down for the weekend for Trig's Blessing at church. We packed those 2 days with as much as possible. On Saturday morning we went to Goat Day in Blountstown then to Panama City for Thor's friend Renner's birthday party. It was at Pump it Up, a 'bouncy town' place. The kids had a blast. After the birthday party, we came back to Bristol to watch the Dueling Pianos concert at the high school. It was a great show. If you ever get a chance to see one of the Lawson bothers shows you need to go. Then Trigs' blessing was on Sunday, had a few hours to rest and visit, then Mamaw and Papaw had to get to the airport to go back to Indy.

1st Big Buck of the year!

Hunting season started last Saturday and it only took Curry a few times in the tree stand to get one of the several big bucks he has been tracking. He shot this big 8 point yesterday morning at about 7:15 am, barely light enough to see him. Thor was so excited when Curry brought it home. Now I'm ready to have the meat in the freezer so we can save a little money.

Curls and Birthmark

Here's some pics of the blond curly hair. It's only this curly right after he has a bath but we still enjoy it.
A couple weeks ago, when he was 5 weeks old, he had a really bad diaper and I had to end up bathing him. While I was bathing him I saw these brown spots on his belly a I thought it was poop. I kept scrubbing and scrubbing and it didn't come off. When I dried him off I realized it wasn't just on his belly. Well as the week went on the brown spots kept getting darker. So I called and got him into the doctor. His doctor was stumped as to what it was. He said it looked like birth mark material but it was so wide spread. Who knew a BIRTH mark could show up 5 to 6 weeks AFTER birth. But they said it can happen. So he sent us to a dermatologist. The dermatologist said it was definitely a malformation in the pigment of his skin. He had one of the nurses take a ton of pictures so he could show them to all his colleagues to see if any of them could diagnose/"give it a name". He also said not to be surprised if it continues to get darker. Well it has continued to darker so who knows just how dark it will get. If you look at the last picture closely you can see a definite line from his belly button down to his private. The doctor said something about us being A-symmetrical and the nerves in the body don't cross the center so that's why the discoloration stops at the middle of his body. So it starts at his belly button and goes around to his butt cheek and all down his thigh to just past his knee. The doctor said it definitely didn't look dangerous or something we needed to worry about but that he wanted to find out what to call it. So we are waiting to hear back from him after he talks to all his doctor buddies. We'll let ya know when we here something and update with more pics if we need too as or if it gets darker.

Cousins or twins?

Last week we went to meet baby Brian. When we were walking down the hall of the hospital to Lisa's room, we ran into one of the nurses that I had had just 4 weeks earlier and she said "Hey, weren't you guys just here?". So, yes Brian and Trig are exactly 4 weeks apart, not twins as they look the same size. Brian definitely had more weight him than Trig did. Love the frog legs boys!

RATTLESNAKE!!!!!!

Thor and I got on the four wheeler this evening to go for a ride and to take some apples to the horses. We were riding around the house and as I turned the corner to go around the back porch, there it was.... coming out of the flower bed........ a huge rattlesnake!!! I put on the breaks and put the four wheeler in reverse. I didn't have my cell phone with me so I couldn't call Curry but I didn't want to take my eyes off of it so I started yelling his name hoping he would here me in the house. He did hear me then grabbed his shot gun and came out there and shot it. It's hard to really tell by the 1st pic but it was 4ft long. It is now in a plastic bag in our chest freezer along with 2 other rattlesnakes awaiting to be skinned.

You know it's time to go back to work when you start finding things to do to get out of the house like going bowling and playing bingo. On Wednesday all of us went went to Mariana to play bingo and go bowling. Well we couldn't play Bingo because kids weren't allowing in. So a trip to Walmart filled the time until the rest of the family could meet us at the bowling alley. We all had a blast and yes it was good to get out of the house for awhile.

Baby brother Trig is finally here!

Trig arrived at 7:50 am on September 2nd. His stats were almost identical to Thor's. When Thor was born he was 8 lbs and 20 in. Trig was 8.05 lbs and 20 in. The biggest difference between the boys is Trig's BLONDE hair! We are all adjusting pretty well and love our new bundle of joy!

FSU Fan Day

Thor wasn't quite sure what to think of Chief Osceola.
A few weeks ago the 3 of us went to Seminole Fan day. They had all the football players signing autographs. The lines were really long so Curry and I split up, passing our autograph football back and forth to get as many autographs as possible. The players were only there for a few hours and when the time was up, they were done. Well, I had been waiting in the quaterback line for over an hour and there was only 5 minutes left and I wasn't going to make it to the tables. So as I was getting out of line to leave a lady that was getting to the players asked Curry what he wanted signed. Curry handed her our football but they said only one item per person. So Curry shoved Thor under the rope and had him go through the line with this random lady and our football was filled with autographs.

Orlando Vacation

Back in July, Thor and I had our last vacation with Curry's family before Trig came. We went to Orlando. All the NC Eikeland's came down and spent some time visiting as well. Although our resort was on Disney property, we just hung out at the pool and went to Sea World. Since Thor had just finished swimming lessons right before we went, he had fun going swimming every day. The picture of Thor riding the lizard is him in the lazy river. The resort also had a mini water park for kids. He loved running through the showers of water and getting squirted in the face.

We actually went to Sea world two days while we were down there. We saw 2 different Shamu shows, one during the day and one at night. Thor loved them, he couldn't keep his eyes off what was going on. He also got to touch a sting ray. The second day there we stayed until they closed and watched their fireworks show. Watching the fireworks was one of biggest highlights of the trip because we got to watch Disney's fireworks every night from the balcony of our room.

Swimming Lessons

Thor started swimming lessons this past week. He's waving and saying, "Hey mama!". He loves the water, he's "like a fish. Ms. Janet, the teacher just loves him, she says she wants to keep him. He loves her too. He is doing so good! This first week she was teaching them to swim to the side and pull themselves up. They also practiced kicking and doing arm motions. Friday and Saturday Ms. Janet was throwing them in the deep end and making them swim to the ladder with no one in the pool! Thor did so good! She also started pushing them under to get rings off the bottom. Thor was coming up with 3 and 4 rings at a time! I will post video of swim lessons later when I get them loaded.

This Kid loves Fireworks!

Thor loved watching the fireworks on Friday night in B-town and here at the Lake on Saturday. While we were watching the fireworks at the lake, Curry brought out our own that we had bought. Thor's favorite ones were the Roman Candles. He could hold them himself and he would laugh so loud when the little balls of fire would shoot out and pop. I have him on video but I haven't up loaded them to the computer yet so check back later for the video.

This year I decided to have a low key family only birthday party. It was much easier and cheaper!! We had pizza and cake and ice cream. Thor's favorite present or should I say presents was the two bubble mowers that he got. He kept giving the orange and green one to cousin Kayleigh to mow with him. After she left he said that was "Kay-ees" mower. Now whoever is home with him get the green and orange mower and has to follow him and mow too. The great part about it is that he has had them for a week now and he still doesn't know that you can put bubbles in them. I guess I can wait another week or two and he will think he has a whole new toy!!

Memorial Day weekend

I know it's been forever since I last posted. You would think that now that I'm home for the summer I would have more time to post but we really haven't been doing a whole lot, just hanging out and relaxing. On Memorial Day Weekend we went in together with some friends and rented a house boat on Lake Seminole. The guys could literally dock the fishing boat right up to the house boat. It rained most of the weekend but they managed to get out in between the storms and catch some fish. Thor got a chance "drive" the boat, which I'm sure was his highlight of the weekend.

Newest addition

Yes, our new addition is a kitten. It took Thor a couple of hours to warm up to it but now that he has, he has a new best friend/toy. We are keeping it on the back porch until it gets a little bigger because it is going to be an outside cat. With his new play area that I created and the kitten, the back porch is Thor's favorite place. I took these pics when we got home from church on Sunday. He was showing the kitten around her new home.

Pro Egg Hunter

Our church had an egg hunt the Wednesday before Easter at a local park. He got so excited every time he found one.

After he found a handful of eggs he stopped and decided to see what was in them. Once he figured out that they had candy in them, that was it he was done finding more eggs. He wanted to open all the eggs and eat all the candy.

This Indy car was on display at the Children's Museum. Thor thought he was so big being able to 'drive' it. He was turning and moving the steering wheel and making car noises like crazy.

Thor and I went to Indy to see mamaw and papaw for spring break. One of the days we spent at the Children's Museum. He loved it! They had a Preschool Playscape area that was designed for 5 and under kids. He spent about 3 hours playing in this one area of the museum. These first pics are him playing in the water area, it was his favorite! He didn't want to leave the water.

This little bulldozer was in the construction area that they had. This area had blocks, a train, and other building stuff.
They also had an art area where the kids could make picture rubbings. Thor rubbed a frog and a fish on his paper.
He also loved playing in the house. He was excited to sit at the table and eat the pretend food. He also kept checking the mail box for mail. They also had a huge magnet wall that was probably 20 feet long with all kinds of magnetic puzzles, letters, and numbers.

Since I can't get one at the Dollar General or Piggly Wiggly and we don't make too many trips to Tally, I'm not sure when we will get a new one. But anyways, things have been going good. My dad, Papaw was just here for the past 2 weeks visiting and fishing. Thor and him had a blast everynight! I'll have to post pics later.

Feeding the Horses

One of Thor's new favorite things to do is to go see the horses and feed them apples. The pasture is around the corner from us and we either walk or ride the four-wheeler there about once a week. We usually have to call the horses to the fence. The first picture is of them walking to us while we are calling them. Then the next ones are of Thor feeding them the apples. The white horse is a hog and usually eats all the apple pieces himself.

Frog Tent

So I finally found a tent. I wanted to get him one for Christmas but after searching the internet I couldn't find one that I liked at a reasonable price. Last Monday when school was out, Kelley and I went shopping. I found it at Target 50% off!! I put it together when we got home and he LOVES it!! This was one of the first pics of him in it. He later started dragging blankets and toys in it. Curry and him play in it all the time during the day.

Running Dogs

So Curry has picked up a new hobby of deer hunting by running dogs. He convinced me and Thor to go with him and all the guys this past Saturday. We got up at 5:30am layered up because it was 25 degrees and headed out to the National Forrest. We ended up staying in the woods ALL day, literally from daylight until dark. Overall we had a good day. Thor loved the dogs!
The chocolate donuts for breakfast was just the beginning of the hunting day food. It continued with Cheese-its, cookies, potted meat, an apple, hot dogs, and crackers with summer sausage.

This time he discovered that a couple pairs of the socks had little hooks on them. So he decided that they needed to be hung up on the bucket.

Last Saturday Pop killed the first deer for the family. Thor wasn't too sure about it. This is all the closer he would get to touching it on his own.

When we were in Indiana we found this 3-piece suit. He wore it to church last Sunday and boy was he a star! I was nervous about the shirt being buttoned all the way with a tie but he didn't seem to notice it, he left it on all through church.

Christmas socks

I wore these red penguin Christmas socks one day last week to work. Later on that evening he pulled them off of me and wanted me to put them on him. So I did. He actually went to sleep that night with them on!
The first week of December we had our Christmas diner at church. He thought that this vent protector was some kind of climbing device. He didn't stay there long.

Indiana

I know it's been awhile. So here's an update and some pics from our trip to Indiana. He got his cast off 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. And we are sure glad that it did! That thing smelled horrible!! The week before Thanksgiving, Thor and I went to Indiana to visit my family up there. He had a great time! This first pic is of him with my brother, his Uncle Dean, in their Colts jerseys.

We went to my Aunt Linda's house to eat diner one night so we could see most of the family at one time. They have a black cat named Peanut and Thor tried to "play" with him. But when Peanut wouldn't play, Thor decided he would play with Peanuts toys. The cat kept running and hiding under the bed and Thor got a flashlight and kept calling "P" and looking for him under the bed. It was so cute!!

Peanut Festival

This past Saturday we went up to Dothan to the Peanut Festival. We met Justin and Kelley and some of her family to celebrate her birthday. After eating the anticipated fair food of corn dogs and elephant ears we headed to the midway for a ride on the carousel. This was his first ride on a carousel and he loved "riding" the horse. He didn't want to get off.

Fall is in the air

Yesterday afternoon we took some fall pictures out around the property. He was too interested in the gourds and flowers to look at the camera . But I got a few good ones, Chaille' got a few good ones as well as I was trying anything and everything to get him to look and smile at us. Trick-or-Treat!

We had our annual Trunk-or-Treat at church tonight. Thor had about as much fun as he could. We took turns holding him and putting him in the stroller. Pumpkin Carvin

Saturday evening we went to some friends of ours from church annual pumpkin carving party and cookout. Thor wasn't quite sure what to think about the inside of the pumpkin. We carved pumpkins, decorated cookies, and went on a hay ride. Needless to say we were all very tired by the end of the day. (the pictures loaded in backwards order) After Curry carved the pumpkin, we set it and Thor up for some pictures. He throughly enjoyed taking the lid on and off and was very proud of himself when he put it back on. (him clapping)
He had to make sure daddy got all the guts out of it! Is it empty, buddy?

Goat Day

This morning we went to Goat Day in Blountstown. This was Thor's 2nd Goat Day. Not sure why they call it Goat Day because there is only a small pen on the side that has some goats in it. The rest of it is arts and crafts booths and vendors. They had all kinds of blow up jumpy things for older kids. Thor liked getting close to the baby pig.
There was one booth that had all kinds of wooden kids toys. Thor got a wooden fishing pole and had to try it out.

First Major Injury!

Yes, we have had our first major accident! Last night we were riding on the golf cart and he slipped behind me and before I knew it , he was laying on the ground screaming. We rushed to the ER in B-town. After several hours they told us he had a fracture in his right leg! So they called TMH and they said we could go ahead and come over, this was at 11:30 last night. So we headed to Tally. Got to that ER at about 12:30 and finally at 3 am we were leaving the hospital with a splint on his leg. He goes tomorrow at 10:20 to get a cast on his little leg. :(
It has been very hard to keep this little guy still. He keeps forgetting that he can't walk and it is getting very frustrating to him. We've had a lot of screaming and crying the past 24 hours.

Sleepy Head

The doors in our house have the lever pull down kind of handles and now Thor is tall enough to stand on his tip toes and stretch to reach them. After going around the house and just pulling the handles down for a couple of days he finally figured out how to push or pull on them to open the doors. Luckily the exterior doors have regular knobs and he won't be escaping the house yet, just rooms.

Tropical Storm Fay

Tropical storm Fay made her way through North Florida last week dumping many inches of rain. A lot of roads were closed due to flooding. The lakes and rivers got their fare share as well. Here are some pictures I took at the Ochlocknee River Dam at Lake Talquin.
Flood stage for Ochlocknee river is 25 feet. I think at it's highest it was almost 33 feet!

Kelley, Thor, and I went to Tally on Friday night to finish getting stuff for my classroom. And of course we went to Wal-Mart. I have been looking for a size 4 pair of brown sandals for him to wear to church so I walked through the infant shoes. As soon as I saw these boots I told Kelley that I had to get them! I pulled them off the rack and Thor started going crazy gibbering and reaching out for them. He was bouncing in the cart and I thought he was going to jump out! So I put them on his feet and he gave the biggest grin! Kelley was laughing and said to let him out of the cart to see if he could walk in them so I did. It was hilarious because they still had the elastic string on them to keep them together but he did pretty good. When we got home we had to show daddy and Thor didn't want to take them off!

Sail boat

On Friday of our vacation we all went on a 2 hour breakfast sail. It wasn't much of a breakfast, some fruit and nasty pastries. This picture of us as has Diamond Head in the background. It's one of the sides of a creator of a volcano. I think it's one of the highest points on the island. Guess what!? WE CLIMBED IT!!! It was very strenuous but we made it!
Thor found this hole in the seat on the sail boat. You can see it in the back of the picture at the top of the web site. He was eating fruit loops and kept trying to stick them in it.
Kayleigh had a blast looking down at us through the windows on the cabin of the sail boat.

Polynesian Culture Center

On Wednesday in Hawaii we went to 'PCC'. We did as much as we could in one day there. That evening we went to a Luau dinner and then a night show. We also rode a tour bus through BYU and to the temple and visitors center.

Curry and Erik tried their hands at a spear throwing contest in Tonga. Erik was the only one to get his in ring. You can see the ring right behind Curry's feet. Way to go Erik!
Thor and Zac got tattoos.

Sleepy Shoes

I got home from church tonight and put Thor in the tub and while he was playing I was on the phone with my mom. Well I got him out and in his pajamas. Then he found his shoes and insisted that I put them on him. He walked around and played for a few minutes and the next thing I know he's out on the floor, still in his shoes! I thought this was so funny because he has been so obsessed with shoes lately. I guess the obsession is out of control when you have to sleep them on!

North Shore

After eating lunch at the Shrimp Truck we continued north to the North Shore. When we got there we saw several sea turtles resting on the beach. There were volunteers there to rope off the area around them so people wouldn't mess with them.
After spending some time at the beach we headed back south and stopped and got some shaved ice. There were several places right in a row and they all had long lines out to the road.
I got root beer flavor with vanilla ice cream in the bottom so it was like a root beer float. Thor was too busy drinking it to look at the camera.

Puppy Love

Sea Life Park

On Monday of our vacation we all went to Sea Life Park. After walking in a tunnel around this huge tank, Cayla and Zac and Thor and I got suited up with life jackets and got in the water WITH the dolphins! We got to pet them, kiss them, and 'dance' with them. After lunch Curry, Taylor, and Lisa got suited up and got into another pool with the dolphins. They got to swim with the dolphins by having a dorsal fin ride and a foot push along with all the stuff we got to do. We had a blast at this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Snorkeling

On Sunday we all drove out to Hanauma Bay to go snorkeling and hang out at the beach. This first picture is from the top of the mountain as we were headed down to the bay. This bay is a big snorkeling area because it is a shallow reef. We saw lots of bright colored fish and sea urchins. Thor did some exploring of his own, finding washed up reef rocks. He had a blast!
Thor had been playing in the sand it was sticking to him all over his body. He starting scratching his belly and the sand irritated his skin and he got a rash. So I rinsed him off and covered him with big cousin Zac's shirt. He thoroughly enjoyed walking around the beach in it.

First Days in Hawaii

Well we finally made it home so I will start to catch ya'll up about our vacation. On Thursday the 17th we all drove to Atlanta. Chaille',Thor , and I went to Shepard's Rehab place to visit my cousin Eli. He 's doing better everyday. Our flight left at 8:30 Friday morning and we got to Honolulu that afternoon. After we got to our hotel we ordered pizza and relized we were finally eating dinner at 4 am Bristol time! The next day we checked out of the hotel and walked the streets of Waikiki while we waited on the other Eikeland's to arrive so we could check into the condo. Thor looking out the window of the plane when we landed in Honolulu.
We saw this store by our condo. It is an artists gallery. His last name is Thordason and they call him Thor. He has been an artist for Disney for 18 years.
Thor was glad to see Kayleigh when they met up with us to check into the condo.

Favorite Spots!

With in the past couple of weeks, he has found two favorite spots. One is his birthmark on his belly, along with his belly button. As you can see he tries to get if off all the time.
His second new found favorite spot is in the bay window in his play room. The window is pretty much from the floor to the ceiling so it is easy for him to get in it. He loves to just stand on the ledge and stare outside.

p.s. He is naked because he had gotten in the dog's water bowl earlier and got soaking wet. Since it was close to diner and bath time, and I've been going crazy trying to pack and get everything ready for our trip, I didn't feel like putting more clothes on him.

Thor had his one year check up yesterday. He got 3 shots and had blood drawn and no Lala didn't do them this time. He weighed 23 pounds and was 30 inches tall. So he has gained 15 pounds and grown 10 inches since he was born!! Here he is sportin' his band-aids.

First Beach Trip

This past weekend Thor and I went to Ozark with Kelley to meet and visit her family. On Saturday we all went to St. Andrews beach in Panama City. This was Thor's first time to the beach. He loved the sand! Not long after we got there a thunderstorm rolled in and we hung out under a picnic shelter.
While waiting for it to dry up we went ahead and had lunch. Thor's favorite was Cheetos! (if you click on the pic to make it bigger you can see all the cheese on his face!)
After lunch we went back out. He was very eager to get in the water but made sure I was right there with him, holding my finger.
YUCK!!! This water taste nasty!!

The two of us were laying on my float out in the water floating around on the waves. Next thing I know he's asleep. So I carried him up to the beach and laid on my lounge chair under the umbrella. One tired boy!!

1st Birthday Party!

Ok, here they finally are. We had kiddie swimming pools for the babies to play in while Curry grilled the hamburgers and hotdogs. All the kids had a blast.

I saw this idea in a magazine a few months ago. It was talking about birthday traditions and this one lady said that she has a special chair decorated for each child for their birthday. They can sit in it to eat their birthday meals, cake and ice cream, and open presents. I bought the red chair on the internet and had my friend Leslie (Kye's mom) paint on it for me. It turned out so much better than I had pictured in my mind! I just love it! Thor only sat in it just long enough for us to get a couple pics.
